〈we〉
Let’s start
Oh let’s start
With A for A bc
With B for a B c
With C for ab C and
We stop.
Let’s start with
A fire, with two stones
Rubbing, kissing, loving,
Hating, hugging, and then
Walking away.
Then we stop.
With a fire we start
The light, we start the night,
We even start evil loneliness,
We walk, with shadows falling behind,
We run with heavy dirty breath,
We may sit down, around
Some fire. Then we stop.
We catch birds, flying
With nothing to prove, with
No hope oh no hope at all
With no jeep running over
The land we used to walk.
we walk With our bare feet.
We hunt for hopes, but they
are snowflakes by the fire, melting
into water drops
transparent, wet, and sad.
We bite hard, but nothing, we
Swallow a mouthful of air.
And we taste like salty flesh, smell like
Rusted iron, unpolished diamonds,
Wasted plastic bottles, a lonely
half of the scissors.
No spring, no winter, no summer,
And we fall. We shall fall
Like apples edible
From trees, to the core of the earth,
To the rotten and broken heart.
From early morning first breath of cold air
From shady light among woods,
From unwritten letter, from unsorted images
To the mice in the sewer
To the filthy corner of unseen nightmare
To one big bang
We had on the bed.
how sweet it is to be loved by you.
